Opioid Treatment Programs: Learn How to Bill Medicare

Opioid Treatment Programs (OTPs) provide medications for people diagnosed with an opioid use disorder (OUD). Medicare pays for OTP services for OUD treatment when you’re: 

  • Certified by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and accredited by an independent, SAMHSA-approved accrediting body 
     
  • Enrolled in the Medicare program as an OTP and have a provider agreement
